The Lonely Planet said a ‘must do’
in HCMC is to visit a roof top bar and take in the city lights. On
their recommendation we went to the 24th floor of the
Sheraton roof top bar, what a great vista of bright neon lights and
signs like Sanyo, Sony etc.
It was an open air bar (ie. no windows)
so we really felt part of the pulsating pace of life below us. The
only uncomfortable part was the price of the drinks, hence kids were
limited to one glass of fizzy as it was 6x the price on the street
and our mojito and beer were also about 4 – 6x the price on the
street, although as Marvin pointed out to me the Sheraton prices were
pretty much the same as NZ bar prices!
