Following our morning at Cu Chi
tunnels we drove back into HCMC and had lunch at Pho2000 (local
noodle house made famous by visiting US Presidents) then we visited
the Presidential Palace, a building caught in the 1960s following a
refurbishment after bombings towards the end of the war. A ready to
go film set if there was ever one!
Next a quick trip past Notre Dame
Cathedral and the adjacent old Post Office building. Beautiful
French architecture from days gone by. Last stop off the tour was
the Military Museum. Lets just say we didn’t have the kids go
through all the exhibitions. Displays on Agent Orange, war crimes
and general military are all depression. You know it is a poignant
exhibition when no one is speaking while taking in the photographs.
